Music and motherhood: facilitating interventions for mothers and their babies

Yorke, S. and Perkins, R. (2017) Music and motherhood: facilitating interventions for mothers and their babies. Manual. Royal College of Music, London.

Abstract

Drawing on the experiences and knowledge gained from the Centre for Performance Science project Music and Motherhood, this document provides information for practitioners who wish to set up their own similar creative interventions to enhance wellbeing. Top tips include building a team, recruiting mothers, choosing a location and preparing for the sessions. It also provides advice from a Workshop Leader and Assistant. This document is intended as guidance for practitioners wishing to work with mothers and babies. However, the majority of information is transferable and could be used to implement workshops within other areas of the community.
