Abstract

For chamber orchestra, duration 13 minutes. This work was commissioned by the London Symphony Orchestra with additional funds from the Britten-Pears Foundation. It was premiered on 13 February 2003 by the LSO conducted by George Benjamin at the Barbican Centre London. The revised version was first performed by the London Sinfonietta conducted by Oliver Knussen on 2 April 2004.
