Turnage, M.-A. (1998) Evening songs. [Composition]

Abstract

For orchestra, duration 18 minutes. In three movements: I) Almost Dreaming; 2) In the Half Light; 3) Still Sleeping. Movement 3 was written for Mark Gooding and the Ealing Youth Orchestra who gave it's first performance at the Royal Festival Hall in London on 3 April 1998. The three movements were performed together for the first time on 2 January 2000 by the NDR-Sinfonieorchester conducted by Christoph Eschenbach in the Musikhalle, Hamburg.
