Abstract

For clarinet and orchestra, duration 18 minutes. This piece was commissioned by the Hallé Concerts Society for the Hallé Orchestra and clarinettist Michael Collins. The premiere on 3 March 2005 at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, was conducted by Sir Mark Elder. It has been recorded by Michael Collins with the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Marin Alsop (London Philharmonic Recordings LPO-0066: https://www.lpo.org.uk/recordings-and-gifts/73-cd-turnage-orchestral-works-volume-3.html. This recording is also available on the LPO's YouTube channel (see the video tab below).
