For ensemble and period instruments, duration 12 minutes. This work was commissioned by BBC2 Television, and premiered on 12 December 1999 by the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment conducted by Simon Rattle at Ely Cathedral.
