Abstract
Variants surrounding a tune by John Scofield for orchestra, duration 20 minutes. This work was commissioned by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, and was premiered on 5 December 1998 at Orchard Hall, Toyko, conducted by Kazushi Ono. Other orchestras who have performed this piece include the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, the Göteborgs Symfoniker, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Tanglewood Music Centre Orchestra, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunk, the Aarhus Symfoniorkester, the Berliner Sinfonie-Orchester, and the Het Residentie Orkest.
