Abstract

For orchestra, duration 6 minutes. This work was commissioned by Performing Arts Education at the Royal Festival Hall, and first performed on 3 April 1998 by Ealing Youth Orchestra conducted by Mark Gooding. It has since been performed by other youth orchestras including Harrow Young Musicians Philharmonic and the Dorset Youth Orchestra. 'Still Sleeping' also forms the third movement of 'Evening Songs' which has been recorded by the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Jurowski (LPO-0007) see https://www.lpo.org.uk/recordings-and-gifts/24-cd-turnage-scherzoid-evening-songs-etc.html.
